Cleft Lip and Palate Repair

Cleft lip and palate repair is the surgical closure and correction of congenital openings (clefts) in the lip or palate.
In these surgeries:

• The cleft lip (opening in the upper lip) is closed, restoring a natural lip shape,

• The cleft palate (opening in the roof of the mouth) is closed to improve both appearance and functions such as speech and swallowing.
