Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction is the process of recreating a breast that has been lost or damaged due to cancer, trauma, or congenital defects.
In this procedure:
-
The person’s own tissues (taken from areas like the abdomen or back), or
-
Silicone or saline (saltwater) implants are used to form a new breast shape.
Purpose: To restore both the individual’s physical appearance and psychological well-being by creating a natural-looking breast.
